Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and NRP, BLS, and STABLE certifications.

Details

• Level III Neonatal Critical Care Unit setting
• Patient population includes neonates from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS, and STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with RAMs, ventilators, central lines, IV drips, and administration of high alert medications required
• Skilled in UAC/UVC management, arterial line management, and central line care
• Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high flow nasal cannula, and oscillators
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
• Experience attending high risk deliveries
• Neonatal dosage calculation proficiency required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for neonates in a Level III NICU including high acuity cases and high risk deliveries
• Responsibilities include APGAR scoring, developmental care, thermoregulation, and patient/family teaching
• Administer emergency medications, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals, and IV vasopressors
• Perform phlebotomy and manage feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage methods
• Teal scrubs required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Locals residing within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
• Previous permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
