Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/IMC night shift position requiring compact or MD RN licensure and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Intermediate Care (IMC) setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
• IMC ratio of 1:4
• Float required to Telemetry and/or Med-Surg units as needed, which carry a 1:5-1:6 ratio
• Every other weekend coverage required, with scheduling based on unit operational needs

Requirements

• Active compact or MD RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• 2 years of PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide clinical care to progressive/intermediate care patients including respiratory, cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, and renal cases
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
