Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a general adult/pediatric emergency department requiring rotating day shifts and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Rotating day shifts (3x12 hours), including 7:00-19:30 and 11:00-23:30 schedules
• Floating within the hospital required, with possible floating to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, EKG/ECG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience managing pediatric and adult emergency presentations such as abdominal pain, asthma, head injury, and seizures
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications
• Experience managing psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
• Experience applying splints and managing orthopedic injuries
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Two supervisor references preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
• Perform triage and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and continuous IV medications as needed
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Local candidates are not accepted, with a 50-mile radius rule in place
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
