Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience and EPIC proficiency.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit (6 North)
- 12-hour day shifts from 0700-1930, three shifts per week
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Floating required if needed
- No on-call requirements
- RNs responsible for identifying cardiac rhythms every 4 hours; no central monitor tech, monitors located on unit
- Patient population includes post-op surgical (general, orthopedic, GYN, vascular), heart failure, chest pain, pneumonia, cellulitis, pancreatitis, and alcohol withdrawal cases
- Manages non-titrating drips and protocols including Heparin, TPN, Lasix, and Cardizem
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required, verified via current NURSYS report showing all past and present licenses
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 1-2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Flu vaccine required during flu season
- 2 recent manager/supervisor references in a matching specialty required
Additional Information
- Any color scrubs permitted
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Large patient populations speaking Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole; fluency in these languages is a plus
- RTO requests limited to no more than 5 days and must be submitted for consideration, though not guaranteed after confirmation
- Block scheduling is not permitted
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
