Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
• Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required, with additional weekends possible depending on unit needs
• Floating may be required based on facility needs
• Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, MAB (or CPI), NIHSS, and PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experienced in 12-lead EKG acquisition and multisystem organ dysfunction management
• Proficient in arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors, and emergency medications
• Skilled in procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Neuro-trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
• Experienced in chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation, and ventilator management
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Ability to manage psychiatric and behavioral health emergencies, including psychiatric holds and suicidal patients
• Experience with pediatric emergency conditions such as asthma, seizures, and respiratory infections
• Skilled in ortho-trauma care including splint application

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Work within a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center environment
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to assignment start
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
