Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Inpatient Rehab unit requiring 2+ years of experience and an active NE or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care setting in a Level 2 trauma hospital's Inpatient Rehab/MedSurg unit
• 35-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, brain injury, and neurological diseases such as MS and Parkinson's
• Patient ratios are 1:5 days and 1:6 nights
• Nurse aides/patient care techs support the unit at a 1:10-15 ratio
• 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700) with cyclic self-scheduling
• Weekend requirement of at least every 3rd weekend
• Holiday requirement of at least 2 holidays per contract
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating required to MedSurg
• Uses EPIC EMR
• No drip titration required by RNs

Requirements

• Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• BSN not required for this position
• Driver's license required at time of submission for radius verification
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, brain injury, and neurological conditions
• Charge Nurse present on each shift for support
• Unit orientation includes classroom training plus 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit
• Pass/fail exam administered on the Friday of orientation covering skills learned; open book with resources provided, requires 90% to pass
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Success on this unit favors strong communicators who are organized, collaborative, compassionate, and skilled in innovative problem solving
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
• Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Up to 7 days of RTO must be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
