Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level 2 trauma acute care unit requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with telemetry across 7 West/7 East/5 East, 60 beds
• Acute care setting within a Level 2 trauma facility
• Adult population with a small amount of pediatric cases (1-5 per year)
• RN to patient ratio of 5:1
• Common diagnoses include post-surgical care, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, and cancer
• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled 1830-0700 or 0630-1900, every other weekend
• Float required to 6E, acute rehab unit, and geriatric psych unit
• Uses Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC) for the submitting state, no pending licenses accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• COVID vaccination status required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a diverse adult patient population including African American and Korean-speaking communities
• Navy scrubs required
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
• Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• RNs complete a pass/fail open-book exam on clinical skills during orientation, requiring a 90% score to continue in the assignment
