Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient clinic setting requiring 1+ years of outpatient PT experience and ME state licensure.

Details

• Outpatient physical therapy clinic co-located with a primary care facility, though the role is PT-only
• Patient population includes mostly adults and school-aged children (non-pediatric developmental diagnoses)
• Common diagnoses include post-ortho, post-spinal surgeries, geriatrics, work injuries, and neurological imbalance
• Evaluations booked for 60 minutes and treatments for 45 minutes, with single patient care model
• Average caseload of 8-10 patients per day, subject to change
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend rotation or call requirements
• May float to a nearby facility (about 30 minutes away) to cover outpatient or, rarely, inpatient needs with advance notice

Requirements

• ME state license required (or compact license); license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or higher required
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient PT experience required
• Manual therapy and exercise science skills required
• Experience providing patient education, including on adaptive equipment such as walkers, canes, and crutches

Additional Information

• Department is supported by 2 PTs and 1 PTA, with the PTA serving as clinic supervisor
• Rehab office coordinator schedules initial evaluations while PTs schedule follow-up visits
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation plus 2-3 days of department-specific skillset training
• Rehab department closes on 6 major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day) but staff are expected to work all other scheduled holidays
• RTO requires manager approval
• Business casual or solid-colored professional scrubs accepted
• Free parking available
• Open to first-time travelers
• Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health hospital in a permanent capacity
• Radius requirement applies based on distance from facility
