Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with 1+ year of experience for a day-shift assignment treating orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary patient populations.

Details

• Outpatient clinic setting within a PT Outpatient unit
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Treats orthopedic conditions including joint replacements, spinal conditions, sports injuries, and post-op cases
• Manages neurologic patients including stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease, and spinal cord injuries
• Provides cardiopulmonary care for COPD, CHF, and post-CABG patients
• Utilizes modalities including cervical/lumbar traction, cryotherapy, e-stim, ultrasound, and TENS
• Performs wheelchair and adaptive device assessments, gait training, and prosthetic training

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the profession required
• Current BLS certification required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Strong skills in documentation including evaluations, care plans, and reassessments
• Proficiency with therapeutic equipment such as gait belts, walkers, and lift devices

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and home exercise program development
• Provides patient and family education on safety, injury prevention, and medication management
• Trained to recognize signs and symptoms of abuse
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
