Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a full-time 13-week contract requiring WI or Compact RN licensure and ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Emergency Department setting caring for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric
• Uses Meditech EMR for documentation
• 3x12-hour shifts combining 7am-7pm and 10am-10pm schedules
• Requires working every third weekend
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or Compact Licensure required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required, ATCN preferred
• Two-year nursing degree required, four-year degree preferred
• At least 2 years of relevant ED work experience preferred
• Proficiency with computerized patient documentation systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize care for multiple patients

Additional Information

• Performs triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level system
• Provides direct patient care including IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency resuscitation protocols
• Collaborates with providers, peers, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care
• Responds to high-stress situations with calm, efficient decision-making and appropriate delegation
• Monitors and maintains life support and automated technical equipment
• Participates in ongoing professional development and required education
• Assesses patient and family discharge needs and provides appropriate education
