Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 3+ years of IR experience and GA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit within a hospital's Radiology Diagnostics department
- 637-bed Level 1 Trauma Designation teaching hospital with Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations
- Cares for inpatient, outpatient, and ER patient populations
- RN staffing ratio of 1:1 until procedure completion
- 10-hour day shifts, 4 days per week (8:30a-5p)
- 40 standard hours per week on a 13-week schedule cycle
- No weekend rotation required
- Call requirement every 5th week, covering Monday-Friday 5p-7a and Saturday/Sunday 7a-7p
- Holiday coverage only required if holiday falls during an assigned call week
- No floating required outside the unit, though nursing coverage is provided for all radiology services
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Philips monitors, and Philips PACS imaging system
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Minimum 12 months of core work experience in Interventional Radiology within the last year
- Skilled in chest tube management, PIV starts, and moderate sedation
- Epic EMR experience
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care and monitoring for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
- Orientation includes facility NEO, 1 day of departmental orientation, and 1 week on the interventional unit
- Unit culture described as inclusive
- Scrubs are hospital-provided
- Parking available for $7.00 per pay period in the deck
- RTO requests require manager approval
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Returning employees or travelers must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
- No radius rule applies, with the same rate offered to local travelers
