Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring travel experience and a flexible schedule to support primarily Med Surg on night shifts.

Details

• PCU Float role primarily supporting Med Surg units
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Must agree to alternating 36/48 hour schedule
• Weekend work required, potentially most weekends during the contract
• Floating required to support unit needs
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules cannot be approved

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown, and Med Surg/Tele settings
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and tracheostomy management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Wound care and isolation precaution experience

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across PCU and Med Surg patient populations
• Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry and cardiac drip therapies
• Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• License must be in-hand prior to start date
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a documented plan for completion
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to travel experience requirement
