Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN House Supervisor for a critical access hospital, requiring strong charge and ER experience and the ability to function as a second ER nurse.

Details

• Critical access hospital with 23 total staff beds
• House Supervisor role requiring the ability to work in the ER as a second nurse
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Rotating weekends required
• No floating between units required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Any scrub color accepted for RN/Allied staff

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS also required
• NRP certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including previous charge nurse experience
• Strong ER experience with supervisory background required
• Seasoned traveler required with prior travel assignment experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in emergency care, code management, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and rapid response
• Experience with restraints (physical/chemical), isolation procedures, and IV starts/maintenance
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, discharge AMA processes, and sentinel event reporting
• Experience in Emergency Department and Pediatric clinical settings

Additional Information

• Serve as House Supervisor with responsibilities including bed management, new admissions, and centralized staffing oversight
• Support facility-wide staffing models and coordinate patient flow across inpatient acute care settings
• May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate; radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
