Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license and critical care experience.

Details

• Acute care setting within an 8-bed Intensive Care Unit
• Patient ratios of 1:2, with potential increase to 1:3 depending on acuity and overflow
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, ARDS, ARF, cardiac dysrhythmias, post-operative complex care, overdose, and behavioral health medical complexities
• Requires central line care, arterial line management, bedside bronchoscopy assistance, and cardiac arrest response per AHA guidelines
• RNs are required to titrate drips including cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine, and precedex
• Hospitalists on-site 24/7, with Nocturnist and Critical Care physicians available 7am-7pm
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 with vent, BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high-flow equipment
• No telemetry monitoring or monitor techs on this unit
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• 12-hour night shift schedule
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating to Medical Surgical units in Peru and Ottawa may be required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, or must confirm application process has been initiated
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• ACLS certification required for this specialty
• Must provide last four digits of SSN and middle initial for consideration
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels as OSF is a Drug-Free Campus

Additional Information

• Provide direct critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including titration of high-risk medications
• No nurse aides on this unit; RNs manage full scope of patient care
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Must wear solid color scrubs or OSF attire per facility dress code policy
• Local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required for this position
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
