Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care skills and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Acute care setting within an 8-bed Intensive Care Unit
• Patient ratio of 1:2, potentially increasing to 1:3 depending on acuity or overflow
• Cares for patients with sepsis, ARDS, ARF, cardiac dysrhythmias, post-operative complex care, overdose, and behavioral health medical complexities
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating required to Medical Surgical units in Peru and Ottawa
• RNs required to titrate drips including cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine, and precedex
• 24/7 in-house Respiratory Therapy and Hospitalist coverage, with Critical Care physicians available 7am-7pm
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with central line care, arterial lines, bedside bronchoscopy, and cardiac arrest AHA guidelines required
• Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels

Additional Information

• Work alongside a Charge Nurse and Administrative Supervisor for unit support
• No nurse aides on this unit
• Unit does not utilize telemetry monitoring or monitor techs
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Solid color scrubs or OSF attire required, maintaining dress code policy
