Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 trauma teaching facility, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• Level 1 trauma teaching facility with a 53-bed emergency department seeing 55,000-60,000 patients annually
• Staffing model includes 2 charge nurses along with nursing, clerk, transporter, and PCT support
• Physician and nursing residency program in place
• Likely involves holding and boarding of inpatients
• Uses Cerner for EHR
• 13-week assignment with night shift hours (18:45-07:15)

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact) required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of start (AHA)
• PALS certification required within 6 months of start (AHA)
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carries out physician and nursing orders and assesses discharge planning needs
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Nursing staff wear navy top and bottom scrubs
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Radius rule applies allowing local candidates at a reduced rate
