Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position requiring an active AK license in hand and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Long Term Care unit within a 40-bed facility
• Night (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) or Day (7:00 AM-7:30 PM) 4x12 shifts, non-rotating
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• Floating within scope to sister facilities may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses ECS charting system
• Scrub color: any

Requirements

• Active AK RN license in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior LTC experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience with respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication, and peripheral line care
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
• LTAC experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (one-time $10 fee, not required prior to start)
• Facility provides shuttle transportation to/from Anchorage at contract start and end, plus local shuttle service in Seward
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract; all RTO must be submitted upfront
• Free parking available onsite
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
