Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg/Tele Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Short term acute care hospital setting, floating within scope to Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Neuro, Renal, and Cardiology units
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for days and weekends, 1:6 for nights
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Required to work every other weekend or a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation
- No on-call requirement
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Uses lift devices (training provided), ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; IV start and Telemetry required; NIHSS preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
- Experience with feeding tube care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, PCA medications, and surgical drains preferred
- Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved for compliance
Additional Information
- Float pool nurses will provide care across Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Neuro, Renal, and Cardiology units based on facility needs
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free parking available onsite
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Standard travelers residing outside the 75-mile radius may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Contract length is firm with no accommodation for block scheduling
