Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring NJ or compact license and 2.5 years of acute care experience

Details

• Work in a 20-bed high-acuity PICU providing 24/7 care for critically ill infants through young adults
• Patient population includes adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients across PICU, Pediatric Stepdown, and med/surg mix units
• Unit manages complex medical and surgical cases including congenital heart disease, post-operative cardiothoracic patients, respiratory failure, sepsis, and trauma
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2, varying based on census, acuity, and staffing needs
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Floating required within skillset to PICU, NICU, Peds, Stepdown, Intermediate units, and PHOC (Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic)

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (NIHSS preferred)
• 2.5 years of acute care experience, including PICU experience required
• Ventilator management, CVVH, and vaccine administration skills required
• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias required
• CRRT and ICP monitoring experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

• Work alongside continuous on-site pediatric intensivist coverage and a multidisciplinary care team
• Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Peds-friendly scrub top with navy blue bottoms required
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
