Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR charting/documentation systems
• Every other weekend work required
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory care skills including chest tube management, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
• Genitourinary/renal skills including continuous bladder irrigation and renal failure management preferred
• Experience with Heparin and PCA medication administration
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with no schedule or RTO requests permitted after offer or during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Full compliance required prior to start; late compliance may delay start due to biweekly orientation schedule
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or not returned to a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment elsewhere before reapplying
