Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist specializing in hand therapy for an inpatient rehab role, requiring CHT certification and 2+ years of hand therapy experience.

Details

• Position splits time between a hand clinic building (3 days) and a satellite clinic (2 days)
• 5x8 day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• No floating required outside of the unit
• Work settings include adult outpatient and hand clinic
• Treats adult patients with hand injuries, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, reattachments, upper and lower extremity conditions, and orthopedic soft tissue injuries
• Utilizes evaluation tools including adaptive equipment assessments
• Performs modalities including electrical stimulation, paraffin bath, and ultrasound
• Fabricates custom splints including functional, static, and orthoplast splints
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a hand therapy specialist (OT or PT)
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification required
• BLS certification required (AHA Traditional accepted; RQI not accepted)
• Expert-level skills in custom splinting
• Expert-level experience with complex hand trauma and surgeries
• Epic charting experience required
• Active OR state license required for consideration (license required if applicable)
• No new graduates will be considered
• Must complete Relias exams with a score of 85% or higher
• Must provide two manager or supervisor references from an employer within the last 24 months (charge RN references not accepted)
• Must provide last seven years of work history including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO details
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient evaluation, assessment, plan of care development, reassessments, and discharge planning
• Provides patient and family education as part of care
• May float to an affiliate hospital nearby; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• No mileage radius requirement; local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed two weeks
• Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must be gone at least 6 months before returning, and require a reference from their prior OHSU manager
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Comprehensive lifetime background check required; no background or license hits accepted
• 13-week minimum contract length
