Description

American Traveler seeks an Outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 1+ year of acute care experience for a rehabilitation therapy assignment.

Details

• Outpatient adult rehabilitation setting within a hospital system
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Performs evaluations, assessments, reassessments, plans of care, and discharge planning
• Conducts and interprets Modified Barium Swallow Studies
• Provides dysphagia management including bedside swallow evaluations, compensatory strategies, and diet modifications
• Utilizes adaptive equipment including alternative communication devices, augmentative communication tools, and memory aids
• Treats voice and resonance disorders using acoustic analysis, nasoendoscopy, videostroboscopy, and voice prosthesis

Requirements

• Current CCC-SLP certification
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required, with at least 1 year in an acute care setting
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with Passy Muir valves, trach/vent patients, and suctioning
• Skills in myofascial release/manual therapy, thermal stimulation, and oral motor treatment preferred
• Experience treating CVA, dysarthria, dysphagia, TBI, and voice disorders
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide patient and family education on therapy goals and home programs
• Deliver functional maintenance programs and in-service training as needed
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to support patient care plans
• Knowledge of signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse required
• Management or lead experience is a plus
