Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU night shift position requiring EPIC charting experience and a compact or PA RN license.
Details
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) setting within a hospital
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- May float to all ICU floors
- No on-call requirements
- Care for COVID patients as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or PA) currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (TNCC preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of SICU experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and management of acute/chronic renal failure preferred
- Experience titrating vasoactive drips and managing continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring preferred
- Experience with GI surgery patients preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to surgical and trauma ICU patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day), or 1 of 2 if contract spans fewer holidays
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius for local pay rate consideration
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
- Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen and manager interview before final placement
- Traveler pairs may be considered, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
