Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift contract requiring 2 years of experience and MD or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Fast-paced, high-volume Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with multiple, complex diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity patients
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- Every other weekend required (4 weekends in a schedule)
- Floating required within specialty and like units of equal or lesser acuity, including to a sister facility as needed
- No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Maryland state or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience required
Additional Information
- Royal Blue scrubs required
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- All RTO must be submitted at time of offer; RTO not accepted during fall/winter holiday weeks
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Pros
This unit is a tight group. Very traveler friendly. A middle of the road lab. Attendings are great once you get to know them. The facility functions very well. Plenty of attractions within 30 minute drive.
Cons
Housing is a problem. This is a location of old money. They try to get as much as they can out of you. Not much to do being you are in the middle of corn and soy country.
