Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and MD or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a high-volume, fast-paced, non-trauma Emergency Department
- 66 rooms/beds with an average census of approximately 200 patients
- Patient population spans all ages from neonates to geriatrics
- ER ratio is 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
- Staffs a 10-bed ED hold/observation unit within the ER with a ratio of 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the specialty, including the ER hold/obs unit as needed
- No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of complex diagnoses and acuities
- May be assigned and rotated into the ER hold/observation unit alongside staff
- Holiday coverage required as they fall per schedule
- First-time travelers with strong ED experience are welcome to apply
