Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of specialty experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Acute care Labor & Delivery unit with 12 labor beds, 5 antepartum beds, and 2 ORs
- OB emergency room with 6 triage beds
- Unit averages 150-200 births per month
- Patient population ranges from high-risk OB to routine OB, including antepartum patients
- Follows AWHONN staffing ratios
- Uses Meditech EMR and OB Trace FHM system
- Day shift schedule, 7a-7p
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to postpartum as needed
- Charge nurse generally staffed outside the grid
- OB hospitalist and neonatology in house 24/7
- RT and pharmacy available 24/7
- No IV team on unit
- No tele or vent responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Intermediate or above EFM certification required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D specialty experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- No first-time travelers considered
Additional Information
- Provide care across the labor, delivery, and antepartum continuum, including high-risk and routine OB cases
- OR techs support the unit by scrubbing for C-sections, attending vaginal deliveries, and managing stocking
- Unit performs C-sections, cerclages, and tubals
- Baby-friendly hospital designation with in-house lactation support
- Holiday coverage rotates in with permanent staff
- Scrubs provided by the hospital
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
- Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
