Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 12-week trauma department assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Emergency Department-Trauma unit setting
• 12-hour shifts scheduled from 06:45 to 19:15
• Cares for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
• Performs triage, rapid assessments, and prioritization of care based on severity and urgency
• Administers medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other ordered treatments
• Operates emergency equipment including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Assists with emergency procedures such as CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
• Documents care accurately and timely in the electronic health record

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS certifications required (AHA)
• PALS certification may be required
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• US Social Security Number and US home address required

Additional Information

• Collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare team members
• Educates patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Follows infection-control procedures and medication-safety practices
• Participates in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule applies that may affect pay rate depending on facility location
• Travelers should discuss assignment extensions with their manager at least 45 days before the end date
