Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 12-week night shift assignment requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of emergency department experience.

Details

• Emergency Department-Trauma unit setting
• 12-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30)
• Cares for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
• Performs triage, rapid assessments, and ongoing patient evaluation
• Operates emergency equipment including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Documents care in the electronic health record

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification (AHA)
• PALS certification may be required
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required
• Prior emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to remain effective in high-pressure situations

Additional Information

• Administers medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered
• Assists with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
• Collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members
• Educates patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Participates in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate due to facility radius rules
• First-time travelers may be considered
