Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring WI or compact RN license and NRP certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a combined L&D/PP/MB unit with 11 total beds
• Unit includes 1 OR suite for C-sections and 1 triage bed
• Approximately 320 births per year
• Patient population includes vaginal births, C-sections, inductions, and hysterectomy patients, with a special care nursery and no antepartum patients
• Follows AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
• RNs manage epidural titration and IV medications to induce labor
• Charge nurse and house supervisor support the unit, though travelers will not be assigned charge duties
• No nurse aides or surgical techs on the unit
• OB and anesthesia in-house 24/7, with RT support available for special care nursery infants
• Uses Novii and GE EFM systems and Cerner EMR
• 12-hour variable day and night shifts, primarily days, with self-scheduling available
• Every third weekend and every other holiday required
• No standby call, though call shift requirements apply
• May float to Med-Surg or PCU as a helping hand only, without taking a patient assignment or working outside scope of practice

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license
• BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent relevant experience
• LDRP experience required
• C-section recovery experience required (unless recovering under general anesthesia)
• Cerner EMR experience preferred as facility transitions to Epic

• Provide nursing care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby patients
• Hospital-supplied scrubs provided
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Candidates who previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
