Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving a combined adult/pediatric patient population including adolescents and geriatrics
• Night shift schedule (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM), 3x12 hour shifts
• Weekday and some weekend shifts, with 8 weekend shifts required per contract
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Variable patient ratios
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provider support includes interpretation services, pharmacy, respiratory services, and unit secretary

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• NRP, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, and CVA/neurological care
• Procedural sedation administration/monitoring skills preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience required
• Triage experience preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in a Level I Trauma Center setting
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Perform triage duties as part of routine responsibilities
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role given the travel experience requirement
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those farther away will be mailed a fingerprinting packet
