Description
American Traveler is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing for a Long Term Care/SNF setting, requiring an active RN license in Maine and prior leadership experience in long-term care.
Details
- Long-term care/skilled nursing facility setting
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8am-5pm, with variable days and weekends based on staffing or patient needs
- On-call rotation required
- No holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Maine (or compact)
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- 2+ years in a management/leadership role preferred, in addition to long-term care experience
- Acute or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Current CPR certification and IV certification required
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to make independent decisions and lead nursing staff effectively
Additional Information
- Assists the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensures quality patient/resident care standards are developed, implemented, and maintained
- Acts as patient/resident advocate and ensures confidentiality of records
- Collaborates with physicians, pharmacy, admissions, case management, and medical director on care coordination and infection control
- Monitors quality improvement activities including chart reviews and corrective actions
- Participates in facility committees such as Infection Control, Pharmacy, and Quality Improvement
- Supports staff education, orientation, and competency development
- Serves as a resource and mentor for nursing staff and students
- Assumes duties of the Director of Nursing Services in their absence
- Must reside 50+ miles from the facility
- Facility is permitted to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week assignment
