Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg-Orthopedics position requiring an active NJ or compact RN license and prior surgical unit experience.

Details

• Specialty Orthopedics/Med-Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Provides pre-operative and postoperative care for surgical patients
• Supports Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes including order evaluation
• PM shift, 7p-7a, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
• Uses Epic for charting
• May float to a sister hospital as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience with surgical patient care, pre- and post-operative assessments preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and safe patient transfer techniques
• Collaborates with the perioperative team to prioritize and coordinate patient care
• Provides patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and instructions
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, followed by a required break before returning
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
