Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for an acute care cardiac cath lab, requiring 1+ years of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Acute care cardiac cath lab setting with 2 procedure suites/labs
• Average of 6 cases per day
• Patient population includes coronary, IR, and vascular procedure cases; no EP cases performed at this facility
• Techs scrub, monitor, and circulate cases
• Uses Cerner and Merge systems, facility transitioning to Epic
• Day shift schedule Monday-Thursday, 0630-1700
• On-call required every 3rd weekend and 1-2 nights per week
• Weeknight on-call Monday-Thursday 1700-0630, weekend on-call Friday-Sunday 0630-0630
• 30-minute call response time required
• Occasional floating for 1:1 sitter assistance

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred
• License required if applicable
• Scrub competency and general/pan x-ray knowledge required
• Knowledge of IR and cardiac case procedures required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred due to facility transition to Epic

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating cardiac, IR, and vascular cases
• On-call coverage needed for cardiology and IR call schedules, including STEMI divert days
• Facility experiences approximately 10 STEMI divert days per month due to cardiology coverage limitations
• IR call coverage required approximately 10 days per month with only 1 IR provider available
• Light blue scrubs provided by the hospital
• Unit-specific orientation includes CBTs assigned on day 1, to be completed within the first week, along with an orientation binder checklist
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Candidates who previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
• Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
