Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a combined Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit requiring NE or compact RN license, NRP, and prior OB nursing experience.

Details

• Combined L&D and postpartum unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Unit includes 2 L&D rooms, 2 postpartum rooms, one swing room, and one observation room
• Unit averages approximately 30 deliveries per month
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio during labor and up to 3:1 on postpartum
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:00am
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• One OB nurse and one nursery nurse scheduled per shift, with cross-training in both departments
• No on-call requirements as OB staffing is maintained in-house
• May float to Acute Care (non-patient-facing, call light support only) if OB/Nursery is closed
• Uses Allscripts, Paragon, Obix, and Epic charting systems
• Pyxis system used for medication dispensing

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D/OB nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable working independently and cross-trained across OB and nursery care

Additional Information

• Provide hands-on nursing care across combined L&D, postpartum, nursery, and observation services
• Work closely with OB and pediatric providers within a close-knit, engaged nursing team
• Hospital provides teal-colored scrubs
• May through July are anticipated high-census months
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
