Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night shift RN for an Emergency Room role requiring 2+ years of ER experience and Critical Access Hospital background, with cross-training into Med/Surg and Stepdown.

• Modern Emergency Department equipped with state-of-the-art equipment
• Access to TeleEmergency, Telepsych, and Teleneonatal services
• Support from ED technicians, Certified Emergency RNs, and board-certified providers
• Works closely with local ambulance services and helicopter transport teams for critical transfers
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Accepts 3x12hr (36 hrs/week) or 4x12hr (48 hrs/week) schedules
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No on-call requirements
• Role is approximately 60% Emergency Department and 40% critical access charge duties
• Required to float to Med/Surg and Stepdown units as needed
• Must be willing to accept Stepdown and assist with Med/Surg patients

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of current Emergency Room experience required
• Critical Access Hospital experience required
• Charge nurse experience highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and TNCC
• Emergency Room skills checklist required for consideration
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past year required
• License verification required
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team
• Support critical access hospital operations by assisting with Med/Surg and Stepdown patients when needed
• Facility works in coordination with DHART and LifeFlight of Maine for rapid trauma transfers
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Housing in the area may be limited, so candidates are encouraged to research options in advance
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed
