Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with adult critical care experience for a 13-week acute care assignment covering ER, ICU, and CVICU units.

Details

• Acute care setting covering ER, ICU, CVICU, and general wards, with no outpatient services
• Patient population primarily adults, with some pediatric patients and infants seen in the ER setting
• Uses Avea, LTV, and Zoll ventilators, V60 and V30 BiPAP/CPAP devices, SiPAP, Vapotherm, and Optiflow for hospital transfers
• Cerner EMR used for charting
• 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, including weekends and holidays
• Primary need is for day shift at the West Campus, though may work at both East and West Campuses
• Float requirement to either campus as needed; West Campus serves adults only, East Campus serves all ages
• No solo shifts and no on-call or standby requirement
• Hospitalist or Intensivist coverage available in-house

Requirements

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential accepted; RRT not required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Adult critical care experience with confidence performing ABGs, EKGs, ventilator management, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Ability to assist with intubation in all care areas; independent intubation not required
• Active state or compact respiratory therapy license required for the state of submission; license required if applicable
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform ABGs, EKGs, ventilator management, BiPAP, CPAP, and general respiratory therapy duties
• No dedicated respiratory manager, supervisor, or lead therapist on staff
• Department-specific orientation includes 1 day of general orientation and 3 days in the department
• Black scrubs required with no logos
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility in AZ are considered local and may be eligible for local rates
