Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a night shift travel position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and an active or compact CT RN license.

Details

• MICU unit within a Level I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center
• Primarily SDU assignments with a 3:1 ratio, with occasional ICU coverage as needed
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Average patient ratio of 1:3 across days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CT RN license (Standard or Compact) required, or proof of application prior to submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience with ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE use
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical/religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Large academic medical center setting with 1,000+ staffed beds
• Trauma Center experience at a large facility strongly preferred
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
