Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and a CT or Compact RN license.

Details

• MICU unit with primarily SDU assignments (3:1 ratio) and occasional ICU coverage
• Average patient ratio of 1:3 across days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• 2 years of MICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Level I Trauma Center experience required for consideration at this facility
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line and central line management, and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE use
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Located at a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with over 1,000 staffed beds
• Travelers must be prepared to participate in emergency response activities, including natural disasters
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions only for religious or medical reasons
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• First-time travelers will be considered
