Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-acuity Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiothoracic ICU unit within a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 for both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Not an on-call position
• Will float to other HVC ICUs within scope
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiac ICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency with Swan-Ganz (pulmonary artery line) monitoring required
• Epic charting experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and cardiac drip titration
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement patients
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKG/ECG

Additional Information

• Provide high-acuity nursing care in a demanding cardiac ICU setting requiring experienced, knowledgeable RNs
• First-time travelers accepted with Cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption
