Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• ICU float pool position within a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care facility
• Floats between two campuses located near each other, with shuttle service provided
• Floats across 5 ICU specialties as well as step-down units, including pulmonary stepdown with 1:3 ratios
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central/venous line care
• Experience with ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and respiratory/thoracic care
• Neurological care experience including EVD management preferred
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery lines
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine/booster required with religious or medical exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide ICU-level nursing care across multiple specialty units and step-down settings as needed based on facility demand
• Participate in required emergency response and natural disaster preparedness activities as needed
• Complete required RN training modules (approximately 2 hours) prior to start and annually
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Requests for RTO exceeding 7 days require additional approval
