Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position at a hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and NC/compact RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient Float Pool position covering all ICU units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
• May also float to stepdown units as needed
• Patient ratios generally 1:1 up to 1:3 in ICU, and 1:3 in stepdown units
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Block weekend scheduling available
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited nursing school
• BSN or MSN preferred

• Provides competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced ICU float pool environment
• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process across multiple ICU specialties
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, discharge planning, and patient education
• Participates in performance improvement activities and utilizes multidisciplinary resources
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis
