Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a full float position requiring 4 years of ICU experience and a current CA RN license.
Details
- ICU float position covering multiple campuses within the same health system, roughly 15 minutes apart via shuttle transport
- Travelers may be scheduled at a different campus each shift and will be notified 2 hours prior to their start time of reporting location
- Rare to float mid-shift
- Shift schedule is 3x12 hour Day/Night rotation as needed, 0700-1930 or 1900-0730
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required
- Travel experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, port access/management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC
- Experience managing continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drips
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management
- Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, stroke/CVA management, and post-neurosurgery care
- Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia management and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, infection prevention, and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Provide direct ICU nursing care in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings
- Preferred experience with cardiac procedures such as CABG, ECMO, Impella, IABP, TAVR, and VAD management
- Preferred experience with FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring and hypothermia protocols
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate status; local candidates accepted at local rate
- Returning staff or travelers must have been separated for at least 1 year before reapplying
- Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract, with recognized holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract
- Candidates may only apply to one facility within this health system at a time
