Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 1 year of experience and current Epic proficiency.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting
- Average daily census of 25 patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Every other weekend required, with a minimum of 2 weekends in a 4-week schedule
- No call-in required
- First-time travelers accepted
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand upon consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications required
- 1 year of RN experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)
Additional Information
- Provide care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve as relief staff
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Scrub color required: Royal Blue
- Orientation held 5 days a week
- Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract; Charge RNs not accepted as references
- RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
- Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Previous Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers
