Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN-ICU for a Burn and Pediatric Trauma ICU requiring adult critical care experience and tele skills at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- 18-bed Burn and Pediatric Trauma ICU setting
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required with some flexibility expected
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float to other ICUs within scope as needed to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic for charting
- Facility is a Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma hospital with 500 staffed beds
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CCRN and/or ENPC, PALS, and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Adult population ICU experience required; candidates with only PICU experience will not be considered
- Telemetry experience required
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required, including a skills test
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, ICP monitoring, and 12 lead EKG placement and reads preferred
- Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Care for burn and pediatric trauma patients, with travelers assigned patients appropriate to their skill level
- Any solid color scrubs accepted; light blue scrubs also provided on unit
- Onsite and offsite parking options available near the facility
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no more than 6 days requested and no RTO during holidays or the first 2 weeks of assignment
- Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week pay period
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
- Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
