Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and Level I/II Trauma Center exposure.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level I and Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required, with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle
• On-call required as needed
• Floating required to all four facility locations (Holmes, Viera, Cape Canaveral, Palm Bay)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (CPI preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with CVA, ICP monitoring, and neuro-trauma cases
• Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and spinal cord injury
• Skilled in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Ortho trauma experience preferred
• Previous acute care large hospital experience required
• Two professional references from a Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director dated within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across adult, pediatric, and trauma patient populations
• Deliver care for stroke, STEMI, neuro-trauma, and orthopedic trauma cases
• Scrubs must be a solid, matching color for tops and bottoms with no logos or prints
• Flu vaccination required between October 31 and March 31, with medical/religious exemptions only
• Finalized time-off requests must be submitted with initial consideration; no additional time-off requests accepted after offer
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former Health First employees or contract staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers with no radius restriction
• Travel pairs permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
