Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II trauma center, requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications along with Epic experience.

Details

• Large Emergency Department treating patients ranging from low to high acuity
• Patient population includes stroke, STEMI, trauma, critically ill, behavioral health, and acute care boarding cases
• Level II adult trauma center and Level III pediatric trauma center
• Primary stroke receiving center and thrombectomy center accepting transfers
• STEMI receiving center
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required, including to sister facilities near the contracted site
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• ENPC accepted as an alternative to PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Arterial line management skills preferred
• Experience with blood product administration and central line care
• Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
• Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and spinal cord injury
• Pediatric emergency care experience
• Neuro-trauma and traumatic brain injury care experience preferred
• Orthopedic trauma care experience
• Skilled in isolation precautions, PPE use, and triage
• Experience managing critically ill patients and behavioral health de-escalation
• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acuities and specialties in a high-volume ED
• Care for a combined adult/pediatric emergency population
• Scrub color is flexible except for reddish-orange
• Parking is facility paid
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront prior to offer, with limited flexibility post-submission
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this assignment
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
