Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Large ED treating patients ranging from low to high acuity, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, critically ill, and behavioral health cases
• Also manages acute care patients boarding in the ED
• Level II adult trauma center and Level III pediatric trauma center
• Primary stroke receiving center and thrombectomy center accepting transfers
• STEMI receiving center
• Evening shift, 3x12 hours (14:30-3:00)
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required, including to sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• ENPC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience interpreting ABGs preferred
• Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury experience preferred
• Orthopedic trauma experience
• Experience managing critically ill patients and behavioral health de-escalation
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health cases
• Manage patients with gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, near drowning, and spinal cord injuries
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
• Local candidates not accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Any scrub color accepted except reddish orange
• Highly encouraged to remain flexible for holiday coverage, with commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
