Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week assignment requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Typical patient ratios of 4-5:1
• Rotating 3x12 shifts covering nights (19:00-7:30) and days (7:00-19:00)
• Weekend and every-other-holiday coverage required
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Skills in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and administering IV therapy
• Experience managing psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
• Experience applying splints and managing orthopedic injuries
• Preferred skills include ventilator care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and administration of emergency medications and vasopressors

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric presentations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
• Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
