Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN requiring at least 2 years of neuro ICU experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit
• 36-hour night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts
• Weekend shifts required
• Float required to ICU/IMC/Tele units as needed
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Experience with ventilated patient care and respiratory/thoracic management
• Neurological skills required, including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
• Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neuro ICU patients
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
