Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a TX or compact license to provide critical care in a Medical-Surgical ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio.
Details
- Medical-Surgical ICU setting
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00), with 36 or 48 hour options
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
- 2 years of ICU experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and interpreting ABGs
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management
- Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience with IV insulin protocols
- Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to medical-surgical ICU patients
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Previous staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All RTO must be submitted and approved at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
- Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
- Onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation
